Abstract

Rhinoliths are irregular surface and calcified stones formed by precipitation of minerals around an exogenous and endogenous nidus. The etiopathogenesis of rhinolites is not fully known. It often develops because an endogenous and exogenous source is located in the nose and calcified after contact with chemical components in the nasal secretions. Rarely, it does not cause any complaints and is diagnosed in routine examination. Rigid nasal endoscopy and computed tomography are the most important diagnostic methods. Treatment is removal of the rhinolite from the nose. In this case, a 39-year-old female patient presented with nasal obstruction and malodorous runny nose was discussed.

Rinolitler, eksojen ve endojen kaynaklı bir nidus etrafında minerallerin çökmesiyle oluşan, düzensiz yüzeyli ve kalsifiye taşlardır. Rinolitlerin etyopatogenezi tam olarak bilinmemektedir. Sıklıkla endojen ve ekzojen kaynaklı bir cismin buruna yerleşmesi ve bu cismin burun sekresyonlarındaki kimyasal bileşenlerle teması sonrası kalsifiye olması nedeniyle gelişmektedir. Nadiren şikayet oluşturmaz ve rutin muayenede tanı konur. Rijit nazal endoskopi ve bilgisayarlı tomografi tanıda kullanılan en önemli metotlardır. Tedavi rinolitin burundan çıkarılmasıdır. Bu olgumuzda  burun tıkanıklığı ve kötü kokulu burun akıntısı şikayeti ile başvuran 39 yaşında kadın hasta tartışıldı.
